How can I be more efficient when I manage larger VM machines?

Large Virtual machines sometimes have a larger number of users depending on the project.

User profiles are an effective management tool in tiCrypt, which allow you to increase user access quickly and regulate how users behave in a virtual machine network.

Instead of manually setting permissions for each user in a large VM, you can avoid human error by using the following workflow:

1. Create a VM User Profile

To create a new VM User profile navigate to the tab, in the Virtual Machines section.

  • Select the connected VM you want to add a VM User profile to.
  • Click the User Profiles card in the bottom right.
  • Click the Add Profile button in the top left.
  • Follow the instructions from the create VM profile section.

2. Apply VM User Profile

To add users to a VM configuration navigate to the tab, in the Virtual Machines section.

  • Select the virtual machine you want to add users to.
  • Click the User Management card on the right panel.
  • Click the Add User(s) button at the top panel.
  • Follow the instructions from the add users to VM configuration section.

3. Make an Announcement to VM Users

Once you applied the appropriate VM User Profiles, you should make an announcement to all members of the specified virtual machine. To do that, you should have a team in place that corresponds to the VM members to allow you to make announcements and manage them for other projects.

To make a team announcement navigate to the tab in the Teams section.

  • Select the team where you want to make the announcement.
  • Click the Make Announcement button in the top right.
  • Follow the instructions from the make a team announcement section.
